Wedding Cookies

ok, we all know what wedding cookies are but that's not what i'm talking about here. i'm talking about the brides and grooms who have come to realize that weddings aren't just about cakes. cookies most definitely have their place on the wedding tables. vlc was blessed with the opportunity to be included in several weddings this summer and each was a bit different. i had one groom who was planning cake at the actual reception but wanted thirty packs of mojito cookies for the gift bags destined for his family coming from Miami. i had another bride and groom who wanted to combine a small cake for tradition with the fun of cookies. According to the bride the "cookies looked fabulous and complemented the cake quite well." (thanks robyn!) and then of course there is the option of an all out cookie extravaganza. when colleen and lary began planning their wedding they knew from the get go that they wanted bunches of cookies. in fact colleen sent me this link for those seeking inspiration: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/16/dining/16cookies.html so, as you can see, weddings aren't just about cakes. something old, something new. express yourself and let your day reflect who you are. i guess that only begs the question: "are you a cookie monster?"
